About Us

The Vocational Day School is a part-time training programme for dedicated young dancers aged 8–17 who wish to pursue high-level dance training alongside their academic education. Running every Friday from 9am to 3pm during term time, this unique pathway supports students in developing their technical ability, performance skills and creativity within a professional and nurturing environment.

Delivered in collaboration with each student's educational school, training takes place at our fully equipped studios and covers a broad range of disciplines including ballet, jazz, lyrical, acro, street,  conditioning and choreography.

Led by experienced, highly qualified faculty, industry professionals and supported by CDMT-recognised safeguarding and educational standards, The Vocational Day School provides a strong foundation for aspiring performers.

Whether students dream of a future in the performing arts or are seeking high-level training to support their passion, the pathway offers both inspiration and structure to help them thrive.

How We Collaborate With You

Your Home Studio

Your Home Studio

Our programme is designed to complement existing training — not replace it. We work closely with each student's home studio, acting as an extension of their current dance education while providing additional vocational training opportunities for dedicated dancers to further develop their technique, performance quality, and industry knowledge.

Families

Families

We believe strong communication and support are essential throughout every student's journey. We work closely with families by providing clear and consistent communication, personalised training programmes, and termly progress reports to ensure every dancer is supported, encouraged, and given the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Academic School

Academic School

At The Vocational Day School, we are committed to ensuring every student's academic education remains uninterrupted alongside their vocational training. We maintain proactive communication with schools regarding attendance, pastoral care, and academic progress, ensuring students' educational and vocational needs are treated with equal importance.

Teaching Faculty and Guest Teachers

Faculty teacher

At The Vocational Day School, our teaching faculty are highly qualified industry professionals who are passionate about developing every student's technical ability, artistry, and confidence. Our faculty hold Level 4 Teaching Diplomas, BA (Hons) degrees in Professional Dance, and all teachers are Acrobatic Arts certified. In addition, our team are trained through Royal Ballet Inspire, are First Aid qualified, and hold enhanced DBS checks. Their role extends far beyond delivering classes, they carefully monitor each student's progress, support technical development, nurture performance quality, and help students grow both personally and professionally within a vocational environment.

Teacher demonstrating

Alongside our permanent faculty, we welcome three guest teachers every six weeks, giving students valuable exposure to a wide range of dance styles, approaches, and industry experiences. These guest professionals may include choreographers, professional performers, industry educators, and current working dancers, all bringing fresh choreography, current teaching methods, and real-world insight into the performing arts industry. This balance of consistent high-level training and regular external industry exposure is what makes The Vocational Day School truly unique.

Fee Breakdown

Tuition

We are proud to offer this level of training at a fraction of the cost of full-time vocational schools. Fees can be paid either per half term or monthly, at £300 per half term or £155 per month. We believe this represents exceptional value, reflecting the high quality of teaching, professional resources, and personalised attention each student receives.

Tax-free Childcare

Parents may also be eligible to reduce costs through the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme, which allows families to save 20% on fees. This means that for every £8 paid, the Government contributes an additional £2, making high-quality vocational training more accessible to dedicated young performers.
